Diablo 4's much awaited Gauntlet and Leaderboards features finally arriving next week

After several delays, Blizzard has confirmed that two highly anticipated endgame systems - the Gauntlet and Leaderboards - will be introduced to Diablo 4 as part of the upcoming mid-season update on March 5th. This marks the culmination of over 9 months of player requests for more challenging endgame activities and ways to showcase their achievements.

A New Challenge: The Gauntlet

Accessible for both Normal and Hardcore characters once they reach World Tier IV, the Gauntlet will provide Diablo 4's first randomized dungeon experience. A weekly-changing layout and enemies over level 100 will test even the strongest builds. Players must acquire as many Proofs of Might as possible within the eight minute time limit through killing monsters and opening chests.

Each successful Gauntlet run will earn a score based on Proofs collected. Those hoping to master the challenges can attempt it repeatedly each week before it resets on Tuesdays. With unique encounters and ever-evolving strategies required, the Gauntlet aims to deliver new replayability and goals for max-level players to pursue.

Track your Progress with Leaderboards

All progress in the Gauntlet can now be tracked via Diablo 4's incoming Leaderboards. Separate ladders exist for each class, party size, and Normal/Hardcore distinction. Users can also filter to compare scores with Clanmates or Friends.

Reaching the Top 100 on any ladder will reward a special Conqueror's Crest mount trophy. Even greater recognition awaits the top 10, who will have their characters immortalized permanently in the new Hall of Ancients. This establishes a new prestige system for the game's elite PvE players to showcase their mastery.

Revitalizing Endgame with Community Feedback

Since Diablo 4's launch in June 2023, many felt the endgame lacked sufficient difficulty or goals to keep pushing characters beyond paragon levels. By implementing Gauntlet and Leaderboards as suggested directly by players, Blizzard has proven dedication to enhancing the experience based on the community's input.

With the mid-season patch only a week away, players can't wait to test these new systems. The Gauntlet in particular provides incentive to perfect builds and buy D4 gold to gain an edge. Combined with public recognition on Leaderboards, Diablo 4's endgame is poised for a revitalization addressing many of the game's lingering issues.
