When you start a new game of Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the first time, you will be given the opportunity to select one of four unique islands from a pool of randomly generated maps to serve as your base of operations

• You are free to leave the game, restart it, and check to see if there are any other options available to you if the presentation of any of them does not appeal to you

• However, if you do not find any of them appealing, you can leave the game

• The latter is something that will not be available to you for some time to come

Check that the island you want to live on is one that satisfies your aesthetic preferences so that you can settle down there.

If you decide that you do not like the look of the layout of the island after you have done some exploring, you have the option to restart the game before the tutorial missions are finished (at the end of the first day), and you can select a new island to play on. This option is available to you if you decide that you would like to play on a different island.

One last piece of guidance I'd like to offer is to keep in mind that once you've chosen a name for your island, you won't be able to change it in any way once the choice has been made. And island will not be added to the name automatically; consequently, if you want it included, you will need to add it on your own if you want it to be included. At this point, it is essential to keep in mind that your tent will eventually become your house and garden, and that you will need to ensure that you will have plenty of room to expand in order to accommodate these changes. It is also important to keep in mind that you will need to ensure that you will be able to accommodate these changes. Because you won't have access to a large number of tools when you first start playing New Horizons, the number of inventory slots that are available in your pockets will be more than enough for you to store everything you need.

You are in luck because any items that you drop on your own island will remain there indefinitely, allowing you to retrieve them at a later time or even on a different day. This applies even if the item was dropped on a different island.

6. Be on the lookout for unannounced guests and remain vigilant for the arrival of any presents that may be sent your way.

You may come across some guests who will provide you with simple fetch quests in addition to Nook, his nephews, and a couple of other settlers. If you do, they will reward you with items or money. There will be times when they have things for you to purchase as well.

Significantly more frequently, and frequently multiple times within the same day, packages can be delivered when they are sent via flying. A slingshot is required in order to pop the balloon and send the package hurtling toward the ground below.

Caution is advised in this situation: do not pop the balloon while it is still floating over water. Despite the fact that your package will be lost at sea, you will still be awarded with Nook Miles for your participation. On the other hand, if you search for items on islands that were generated at random, you might have better luck than on other islands.

It is imperative that you do not leave anything of significance behind on the island, as it is highly unlikely that you will ever be able to return to the same island twice. Because of this, it is important to keep in mind that you will never be able to return to the same island. On each of the islands, for instance, a unique variety of fruit might be dangling from the trees. This would make it possible for you to take some of the fruit from another island, plant it on your own island, and create a new variety of fruit (for an example, see the section below).

You can use the fruit that you collect from other islands to assist you in growing specific trees on your own, which is one of the reasons why you should try to collect as much fruit as you can while you are traveling to different islands.
